Covenant Cooks Teach Healthy Cooking and Shopping

Covenant Cooks will sponsor two workshops on Healthy Cooking and Shopping during the Earth Day Festival April 18 at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 10:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m. Sherman native Condy Pardue will give a presentation on Healthy Eating and Frugal Shopping that illustrated a frugal meal plan with all of the recipes and costings calculated. A Handout on frugal shopping tips and additional recipes as good examples of healthier eating will be provided for attendees.
Cindy graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.S. in Home Economics. Her passion for a healthy lifestyle and love for cooking led her to mentor others to improve the quality of their family's health by making simple changes to the foods they prepare and adding exercise to their schedule. Her cooking demonstrations have been well received at retreats and seminars in Richardson. Cindy enjoys cooking, entertaining and sharing her enthusiasm for making delicious and healthy meals.
Covenant Cooks is a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sherman. The leaders involved teach cooking classes designed to help reduce grocery bills without compromising nutrition. The classes taught focus on main dishes, salads and dressings, and desserts and also include tips on label reading and shopping.
