Whether it is a lack of threadfin shad, zebra muscles, lake elevation, climate, or all of the above, one thing is for sure, the fishing has never been this good this late in the summer. Don?t get me wrong, summer fishing can be great and we normally catch lots of big fish but this year is definitely and exception because we?re still catching fish like it is spring except they are all over 20?. . . .

May has certainly lived up to its reputation as being one of the best months to come fishing on Texoma. Right now the fishing is as good as it gets and it is not showing any signs of slowing down. I?ve been fishing every day and many times twice a day for several weeks now with limits caught on every trip with the exception of one where we had to come in 4 . . .

I don?t know what it is about the rain but it makes the fish go nuts. Possibly the dropping pressure and the rain mixing the water to add more oxygen but whatever it is it works. I don?t think I have ever had a bad day fishing in the rain and this past weekend was no exception. It didn?t stop raining all weekend long and we were catching fish hand over fist the whole time. . . .

The last couple of weeks have been slow for me. I haven?t been able to bring home a good box of fish since the last artic blast blew through, with humbling totals of 10 fish or less on the few trips that have decided to fish. Thankfully on Saturday, with temperatures not rising above freezing, I was blessed with some feeding fish to give me a decent box of fish.
